All About The Honey Harvest

The time has come. We’ve inspected the hives, fenced out the bears, endured the hot days, and now the season has arrived.

Learn all about the honey harvest with the Leatherstocking Beekeepers.’ Find out how much should be left, what equipment is needed, and how to market the honey to the non-beekeeper consumers of honey.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, at The Farmers’ Museum, 5775 State Highway 80, Cooperstown. Everyone is welcome.

Harvest Festival Buzz

The Beekeepers table was buzzing this past weekend at the Farmers’ Museum Harvest Festival. We had everyone from experienced beekeepers to curious beekeepers and small future beekeepers stop by to get a closer look at the observation hive and learn about honey bees.

The Leartherstocking Beekeepers’ Association meets each 4th Thursday of the month at The Farmers’ Museum, Cooperstown, and includes everything from guest speakers to members giving presentations all about the honey bees.

Our next meeting is set for September 28 at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
